Katakuri no Sato (Komaino) is where the writer Yoshu Mizuno resonated with Tolstoy's idea of living a half-farming life and moved to Narita Komaino in 1924 (Taisho 13). The flowers hand-planted by Yoshu are still preserved, opening up the garden in each season.

成田空港が開港（1978年）する前、当時あった宮内庁ご用達の御料牧場が附近にありました。上の東屋は1960年代に宮内庁の方が設計し、東庄町の青年団によって建てられました。 この東屋では羊肉を使ったジンギスカン料理がもてなされ、その記録が残されています（日本におけるジンギスカンの発祥は北海道説と成田説があり）。近くの綿羊会館が閉業したので、東屋を修復したあかつきには当時あった秘伝のレシピで寄付者におもてなししたいと計画しています。
